This recipe is one a teacher gave me in high school to make for our national honor society inductees reception. I have made them by request for a wedding and other get togethers. They are easy and tasty. They melt in your mouth leaving a wonderful chocolate taste.

Steps

Preheat oven to 225º. Line a baking sheet (or two) with parchment paper.

Place egg whites into a mixing bowl and beat until frothy.

Add the cream of tartar, and beat until soft peaks form.

With mixer running, slowly add sugar continue beating till stiff peaks form.

Fold in chocolate chips.

Drop one tablespoon of the meringue onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing approximately 2 inches apart.

Bake for 45 minutes, then turn oven off. Without opening the door, let stand in oven for 1 hour.
