Amish Sugar Cookies

Since these are drop cookies instead of rolled, chilled, and cut out they are little on the crumbly side.

Amish sugar cookies are easy to make and since they are a drop cookie this is a perfect cookie to make with the kids or grandkids. This recipe makes about 4 dozen.

Steps

1
Done

In a stand mixer or hand-held place in a large bowl and beat the butter, oil, and sugars.

2
Done

Beat in eggs and add vanilla until well blended and creamed.

3
Done

I weigh flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar in a large bowl (don't forget to tare between ingredients). Gradually add to the creamed mixture.

4
Done

Drop by small teaspoons or cookie scoop (I like cookie scoop because it makes even sized cookies) onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper.

5
Done

Bake until lightly browned 10-12 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool.

Rose I am so glad you like these cookies. These remind me of the local bake sales in my hometown when I was young.
